What is better than catching your own bait, then catching a fish from it?! Instead of using popular tournament style rigs, jigs, soft plastics and worms, sometimes it is fun to catch your own bait to fish with. One of my favorite tactics for catching my own bait is seining for shad. Shad are a popular bait fish that large mouth bass love to feed on at Lake Travis. There are many popular tactics for seining. Like many things, practice makes perfect. Here is a really good instructional video to teach you the basics of seining for bait fish. Good Luck!
